Investment Strategy

PEEIF invests in opportunities within the fields of Energy production, Energy Efficiency and Cleantech, with the following four basic strategic principles in mind:

  1.  Capital preservation;
  2.  Invest with a moderate risk tolerance;
  3.  Seek stable annual revenues;
  4.  Ensure clear and predictable investment exits.

(1) The first closing of the Fund (10M€) is fully subscribed.

  • ~ 45% by IFD, the Portuguese State Institute for Venture Capital Support (now Banco Português de Fomento).
  • ~ 55% by Private Investors.

The in-depth experience and the though-out activity of PEEIF management team within this sector guarantee a pipeline of high-quality opportunities with the required characteristics, which has allowed for a relatively short-term investment cycle and the generation of sustainable returns throughout the funds’ life cycle.

Companies with portfolios of PV projects which guarantee 10+ years of stable returns, aligned with PEEIF’s target returns. Upon investment, these are projects that ensure above 10% returns over more than 15 years, at least. The Fund generates value and sells its position at the right maturities, thus generating the returns for investors.

Companies with portfolios of Energy Efficiency projects in Tier 1 clients, which guarantee 10+ years of stable returns, aligned with PEEIF’s target returns. Upon investment, these are projects that ensure above 10% returns over more than 15 years, at least. The Fund generates value and sells its position at the right maturities. (also)

Companies with innovative solutions in the Energy and Energy Efficiency fields, with high levels of expected growth, that will benefit from the fund’s management team market experience and contacts. (also)

The fund has been registered as a Venture Capital Investment Fund, in accordance with the Portuguese Regulatory Authority – CMVM, and its Management Company is Quadrantis Capital – Sociedade de Capital de Risco, S.A
